Upgrade or downgrade your plan

Change your Scanix plan. Stripe prorates the difference automatically.

You can move between plans whenever you like. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades typically take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Before you start

You'll need an active paid subscription. If you're on a trial, see Convert your trial to a paid plan instead.

Upgrade or downgrade

  1. Sign in and go to /account/billing.
  2. Find the Plans section.
  3. Pick the new tier and billing interval (monthly / yearly).
  4. Click the Switch button on the tier you want.
  5. Confirm the change. You'll see a summary of the new charge or credit before you commit.

That's it. The new plan is live immediately for upgrades, and your next invoice reflects it.

What happens with billing

Upgrades — Stripe charges you a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period at the new rate. Future invoices use the full new rate.

Downgrades — your current plan stays active until the end of the current billing period; the lower rate kicks in on the next renewal. You're not refunded for time already paid at the higher tier.

Switching monthly ↔ yearly — Stripe credits unused time on your current interval and bills the new interval on the new schedule.

In all cases you can see the exact math on your next invoice (find it from /account/billingView invoices).

What happens with my license

Your existing license stays valid the whole time. Tier changes are reflected on your license at /account/licenses within a few seconds; the desktop app picks up the new entitlements at its next license refresh.

If you downgrade from Pro to Standard, devices beyond the new device limit (Pro = 3 devices, Standard = 1) keep working until the end of the current billing period, then are auto-disconnected. To pick which device stays active, transfer your license to that device before the period ends.

Troubleshooting

"Plan switch button is greyed out." You're already on that plan. Or your subscription is in a transitional state (e.g. cancellation pending, payment failed). Check the Subscription status banner at the top of /account/billing.

"My desktop app says 'license tier changed' and won't open." Restart the app. If it still complains, click Refresh license in the desktop app settings, or sign out and back in.

"I want to upgrade to Enterprise." Enterprise is a contracted plan with custom seat counts and SLA. Contact sales — we'll handle the migration manually so your existing data and licenses transfer cleanly.
