Delete your account

Permanently close your Scanix account. Read this carefully before you click the button.

Deleting your Scanix account is permanent. Once we process the deletion, you can't recover the account, your licenses, your invoices, or your support history.

Before you delete

Make sure you've handled these first — you can't undo any of them after deletion:

  • Cancel active subscriptions. Go to /account/billing and cancel any paid plan first. Otherwise you'll keep being charged after the account is gone.
  • Download your invoices. Open Stripe Billing Portal from /account/billing and save copies of any invoices you need for accounting.
  • Move your license to a different account if needed. Active licenses are tied to your account and will be revoked on deletion. If a colleague should keep using a license, contact support before you delete.
  • Save anything you scanned with the desktop app. Scans live on your computer, not on Scanix servers — but if your license is revoked, the desktop app stops working until you have a new license.

Delete your account

  1. Sign in and go to /account/settings.
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom.
  3. Click Delete account.
  4. Type your email address into the confirmation box.
  5. Click Permanently delete.

You'll be signed out immediately.

What happens after deletion

  • Your sign-in stops working. Trying to sign in returns "no account found".
  • Your licenses are revoked. The desktop app on any device stops working at its next license refresh (within 30 days, or immediately if connected to the internet).
  • Open support tickets are closed with a system note.
  • Your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we're required by law to retain it (typically: invoices for 7 years for tax purposes, security audit logs for the legally required minimum).
  • Anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely; they can no longer be linked to you.

Changed your mind?

If you change your mind within 7 days, contact support — we may be able to recover the account. After 7 days, the deletion is irreversible.
